We have recently marked 25 years service from another Parafix employee; Rickie Souter, one of our Machine Operators.
Rickie began working at Parafix in 1991, when the company was half the size it is now. He has gained a thorough understanding of all of our converting machinery and is recognised as one of our most valuable Machine Operators.
Rickie has held a number of roles during his 25 years, including Machine Setter/Operator and Production Team Leader. He has seen Parafix grow and diversify during this time and transforming from a £1m to £10m business.
Rickie said of his time at Parafix: “when I started we were a lot smaller, there were less staff and we weren’t in so many different industries. During my time we’ve grown rapidly and continually introduced new machinery and diversified into new markets e.g. the mobile phone market, which had some interesting applications.
“I have genuinely enjoyed my time at Parafix and love making parts that look good and provide the customer with what they need. I enjoy our relaxed atmosphere and work with a good set of people”.
Rickie’s efforts were recognised in an informal presentation with Parafix Directors Mike Punter and Colin Wills, where he received a gift for his valued contribution to the company.
This loyalty and dedication from Parafix employees has helped achieve many successes during our 40+ years. We have a history of very low staff turnover and see this as a strength in the adhesive tape converting industry, due to the technical expertise required.
