Polyimide film insulating tapes, including Kapton tape, are specially designed for high temperature applications requiring a thin, puncture resistant backing. They are ideal for high temperature electrical applications in which a tough, thin insulating material is required for wrapping coils, transformers, capacitors and wire harnesses. They are also used as a cover layer and for wave solder masking in printed circuit board assembly.
