  • About Polyethylene foam

Polyethylene foam, also known as PE and LDPE, is a lightweight, closed cell foam with superior performance. Polyethylene foam is strong and resilient with excellent energy absorption and acoustic properties. Common applications include shock absorbing, vibration damping, thermal insulation, gasketing and sealing across a range of industries.

Crosslinked polyethylene foam is also available, which offers enhanced performance due to the stronger cell structure. Utilising our range of converting capabilities, we can laminate closed cell polyethylene foam with double sided adhesives and convert the bespoke material construction into custom shapes, sizes and final presentations suited to your unique requirements.

    Polyethylene foam characteristics:

    • Closed cell
    • Excellent chemical resistance
    • Resistant to chemicals and grease
    • Excellent resistance to environmental extremes e.g. UV, ozone and moisture
    • Available in a range of thicknesses and colours
    • Lightweight, flexible and durable
    • Low water absorption and vapour transmission
    • Performs in high and low temperatures
