  • About filament reinforced tape

Filament reinforced tapes provide the dielectric strength of polyester film and the high mechanical strength of glass fibres. They offer low stretch, high tensile and edge-tear resistance for a more cost effective solution, compared with glass cloth tapes. Filament reinforced insulating tapes are excellent for anchoring lead wires to banding coils and end-turn taping. A special paper-backed filament tape is available for high-voltage oil-filled transformer applications.

Utilising our range of converting capabilities we can offer filament reinforced insulating tapes in custom width and length rolls or in custom shapes and final presentations.

    Filament reinforced tape characteristics:

    • Conformable
