Whilst he doesn’t look old enough, this month we celebrated an impressive 40 years of service from Parafix Director, Colin Wills, having joined Parafix in May 1977.
Colin previously worked for 3M in Customer Services and, amongst other things, had the responsibility of servicing the Parafix account. From there he was approached by Parafix founder, John Shipley, to use his customer service and considerable product knowledge to become Parafix’s Office Manager.
Colin has been instrumental in the history of Parafix, and quickly became a Director. He has helped oversee the evolution from slitter and distributor to leading converter, offering a wide portfolio of services and expertise into key markets such as healthcare, automotive and electronics.
In 2005 he joined forces with Mike Punter and became a shareholder following a Management buyout.
When Colin joined Parafix there were eight employees in a small unit in Worthing and since then he has seen the company grow to 250 employees, in four sites and across two countries. Colin is pictured above at our Lancing site in 1992 when the premises were extended to create more office space.
Colin commented of his time at Parafix: “People often ask me what has kept me at the same company for so long. There are many reasons but the two main ones are the many changes over the years as the company has grown and the people around me. Many of them have been at Parafix nearly as long as me and have become firm friends over the years. As to the future…I don’t think I shall be looking for a new job now!”
