Battling the cold and wet weather thrown at them at the end of May, a three man team from Parafix completed a 110 mile off-road bike ride over the South Downs in aid of the Argus appeal charity.
Setting off from Winchester, the team faced a number of setbacks – the loss of camping gear, mechanical faults and an unfortunate date at A&E – but managed to successfully cross the finish line at Beachy Head, Eastbourne.
The team raised £800 for the Argus appeal, a local charity which aims to relieve sickness, poverty, hardship and to provide benefits for lonely, needy old people and underprivileged children and other persons considered appropriate by the trustees in the Sussex area. All funds raised are used to support causes where they can “make a difference”.
