Parafix Tapes & Conversions is delighted to announce that it has been crowned Manufacturer of the Year by the Worthing Business Awards. The awards were presented at a glittering black tie event held at the Pavilion Theatre and hosted by TV presenter Fred Dinenage.
Commenting on the awards, Parafix managing director Mike Punter said; “I’m really proud of the efforts of my staff who have all worked so hard through the recession. They have made a real difference to the business and this has been an excellent year for the company.”
First held in 2007, the awards were instigated specifically to showcase the town's business successes. Worthing Borough Council and other local business organisations all contributed to developing the awards, with Worthing Chamber of Commerce supplying one of the three judges for each of the categories.
The 2009 competition was the first in which the Worthing Herald was involved with the sponsorship, promotion and running of the awards ceremony, in conjunction with the Economic Development and Regeneration Partnership (EDRP). The EDRP has been established to address strategic issues. This partnership includes representatives from Worthing Borough Council, Worthing Chamber of Commerce, Worthing First, Worthing Town Centre Initiative, Federation of Small Businesses, Northbrook College, Worthing College, Council of Voluntary Services, Learning Skills Council, Business Link and Worthing Arts Council.
