We were once again blessed with excellent weather, that is it rained the previous day to soften the greens but the sun shone for us on the big day. 48 players participated and once again to a person enjoyed the event, if not their own golfing prowess.
The morning Texas Scramble, was won by a team of two customers, a supplier and a Parafix Business Development Manager, another well managed Parafix feat!
The team consisted of Andrew Courtenay, Arek Majczak, Simon Treharne and Andy Murray, well done and do not forget to return the plates next year.
The nearest the pin prizes were one by Paul Barwick, by a shot that was very close to a hole in one, that would have cost him, or somebody and Roger Saxby, a purveyor of fine motor vehicles throughout Sussex, who also was the winner of the MPHFGS Hip flask with the best Member’s score.
The longest drive prizes were won by Bruce Copping from Mid Sussex Porsche and for the ladies Mai Griffiths representing Conwy GC (if you find yourself in North Wales this is well worth a visit). Well done to you all.
However playing off 25 Chris Goodman representing another Parafix supplier scored a very respectful but fair 39 points.
Chris has not only been recognised as our 2011 champion, with his name duly inscribed on the cup but will enjoy a great day out at one of the UK’s prestigious golf courses.
Singing Hills once again provided an excellent course, first class customer support throughout the day, whether in the pro shop, bar or restaurant so we will be back next year.
As tradition will have it, those that could, retired to the Duke of York to round off an enjoyable but tiring day.
