During July and August of this year, Parafix conducted a customer needs analysis survey to gain a greater understanding of what their customers really need and the level of awareness they have of Parafix’s products and services.
Over 300 responses were received and some interesting results were found.
Awareness of the products Parafix supply and customise was asked; results showed 87.3% of respondents were aware of double coated tapes and foams; in contrast to 19.8% awareness of protection products, 15.7% of thermal management products and just 9.6% of filtration and venting products. What was found is that there are many products available and relevant to Parafix’s customers that are beneficial to what they do. Work will now be done to provide better, more relevant communications.
Another question was about the awareness of Parafix’s capabilities. Results showed that there was greater awareness of Parafix’s ability to slit, guillotine and die-cut (82.8%) and their preferred supplier status for manufacturer’s products such as 3M, Laird and Rogers (72.4%). Although these show a high percentage of awareness, there is still room for improvement in communicating the benefits Parafix can provide; for example, as a preferred converter, Parafix receive preferential services, training and pricing, all of which are passed on to the customer.
The areas with least awareness included Parafix’s capability of helping design parts into customer products using computer aided design (22.9%) and their ability to provide pick and place equipment to automate the application of die-cut parts into customer products. As a result, Parafix will work hard to promote these services and encourage their use; some of which are provided free of charge, to help customers develop their products.
Respondents were also asked what their top needs were and how Parafix perform against these needs. The chart below illustrates Parafix’s performance in meeting each of the top five needs of all respondents. This shows the percentage total of responses answering ‘always’ and ‘mostly’ meet this need.
Of the 300+ survey responses gathered, one respondent was chosen at random to receive a prize of £100 of Supercheque vouchers. The lucky winner was Rob, Managing Director of a leading healthcare company. He said of his win: “I was surprised and delighted and will use the prize to buy a gift for our staff”. His company provide a range of medical and surgical equipment to both the private and public sector within the UK and Europe, specialising in disposable medical equipment, medical supplies, surgical instruments and products.
Parafix would like to thank all of those that took part in the survey and hopes to continually receive feedback from customers about their needs. If you would like to provide further feedback, or if you have any questions regarding the survey, get in touch today.
As a result of survey findings and as part of Parafix’s drive to continually improve, a review of aligning customer awareness and expectations will be conducted. Parafix will be working hard to improve in the areas their customers would like.
