In June this year Parafix were delighted to be accredited with an SC21 Bronze Award. To win this accreditation, we had to demonstrate improvements in both business and manufacturing excellence across a wide spread of measurements, and we’re delighted that our existing KPI and management systems met the challenge.
What is SC21?
Supply Chains for the 21st Century (SC21) is a standard organised by ADS, the association for the Aerospace, Defence and Security industries. Â It is an improvement programme designed to increase the performance of suppliers and their supply chains, with a view to accelerate competitiveness, within the UK aerospace, security, space and defence industries.
Why do we need it?
International competition, together with the challenges posed by the defence industrial strategy, necessitates rapid improvement in the effectiveness of supply chains. At the same time, industry must ensure that it delivers competitive solutions for customers whilst maintaining profitable business growth.
What does this mean for our customers?
As a result of the above mentioned benefits, our existing customers will see increased value in the form of improved relationships and long-term planning, as well as improved delivery performance, communications and quality. Also, new or prospective customers can be assured of our quality and service levels from the SC21 award without the cost and time needed for their own auditing.
What does this mean for Parafix?
Through participation in SC21 we will increase our understanding of how the industry will be changing and developing in the future. This will allow for consistent planning and accurate forecasting. We will take part in industry training and development and will also benefit from greater operational efficiencies and asset utilisation.
The future will see us aiming towards a silver award through continual improvement of our systems and practices.
