Silicones are synthetic compounds that can be found in a variety of solid rubbers, sponges, foams, films, and even liquids. Silicone substrates are, often, preferred because of their diverse range of performance properties and are used across a wide range of industries. Their properties include:
- Stability- low chemical reactivity
- Compatibility- Silicone substrates will not interact with other substrates and generally have an affinity only for other silicone materials
- Durability- long lasting, flexible and tough
- Cleanliness- low toxicity, does not host microorganisms
- Hydrophobic Properties- Silicone substrates repel water and can be used to form water-tight seals
- High Temperature Performance- can withstand (and perform in) temperatures -60°C to 300°C
- Insulation- can be formulated to act as electrically conductive or insulative
ADDEV Parafix offer a diverse silicone bonding portfolio of products that includes silicone/acrylic differential double coated tapes and a wide range of double coated tape calipers to meet design needs, essential as product designs become slimmer and slimmer.
This range also includes a silicone transfer tape that has no carrier, with high temperature performance that can match the performance of the silicone substrates it bonds.
Additionally, 3M provide silicone bonding solutions that offer a non-silicone single liner for reduced liner waste and improved liner release- extending shelf life of these products up to twelve months.
Combined with ADDEV Parafix’s capability, these products can be supplied in slit rolls, sheets or die-cut form, in a number of convenient presentation options.
