To increase the options available in our electrical tape range, we have introduced self amalgamating tapes. This range consists of 3Mâ„¢ self amalgamating tapes and Roger’s Arlon® silicones, both of which complement the variety of insulation products already offered, such as polyimide, glass cloth, vinyl and paper insulating tapes.Â
Self amalgamating tapes are unique in their construction, in that they are not formed of an adhesive coated carrier like other electrical insulation tapes. They are non-adhesive, but tacky to the touch, and will self fuse to create a strong, waterproof and electrically insulating layer.
Self amalgamating tapes offer the characteristics of standard insulation tapes but can exhibit far greater performance in terms of elongation and performance at very high temperatures.
