On Friday 28th July the Parafix Annual Golf Day was held. This was the 24th consecutive year Managing Director, Mike Punter has held this popular event, originally in the guise of the MPHFGS (Mike Punter’s Hip Flask Golf Society).
The date once again clashed with Hickstead, the Test at the Oval and Sussex playing Middlesex, but our turnout was to its normal standard as was the majority of the golf.
The morning 9 hole Texas Scramble produced a variety of results with only one team coming in with an under gross par result, that was Mike Punter’s team, including Big Dick Simpson, Damian Pulford and a new addition to the flight, Matt Warren.
Although not a record breaking score, the total net after the 5% exact allowance deduction was 4.2 under par.
The nearest the pin prize was won by our very own Paul Barwick, having been dislodged by Mick Buckman and Rob Lee.
The longest on the fairway was won by Damian who also won the afternoon full handicap Stableford, playing off 12 with 35 points.
Well done to all and a special note of thanks to the team at Singing Hills for making our visit so enjoyable.
