Parafix is always looking to be involved with our community and to encourage science, technology, engineering and manufacturing (STEM) education. We have recently been involved in a few STEM events at the University of Chichester and the Sir Robert Woodard Academy (SRWA).
Our Quality Manager, Paul Bickmore, and our HR Manager, Emma Pope, attended an event at the University of Chichester, along with a number of other manufacturing companies, to discuss engineering apprenticeships, STEM in general and to partake in a few engineering experiments.
One of the activities which the participants found especially engaging was a competition in making a mini lava lamp following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) procedures – and Team Parafix won!
Emma also visited local schools and held talks & interactive sessions at SRWA aimed at encouraging children, especially girls, to look more into STEM careers. She was thoroughly impressed with these youngsters and their curiosity.
People here at Parafix are very passionate about what we do and we love having an opportunity to speak with young minds in our community. By sharing our excitement about all things engineering, we hope to inspire new generations of problem-solvers and see how we can help them along the way
