Overview for 3M™ 583
3M™ 583 thermal bonding film is a high strength, flexible, nitrile phenolic based thermoplastic bonding film that can be heat or solvent activated for bonding. This film can also be lightly crosslinked using a post heat exposure. Crosslinking will provide additional heat and solvent resistance as well as somewhat higher shear strengths. 583 film has a slight surface tack, provides a dielectric insulating layer and offers consistent bond lines due to its uniform film thickness. It is available in non-standard slit rolls, sheets and custom shapes.
