reading time
It goes by many names; Lean, Continuous Improvement, Business Improvement, “just good practice”, but ultimately it is the same. It is all about putting into place robust processes and procedures, some innovative and some simple, to do the right thing at the right time, time and time again.
To this end Parafix is engaged from top to bottom in business improvements, with staff going through NVQ levels 2, 3 and 4. These staff, backed/supported by the management team, engage in lean projects, company wide, looking at everything from movement of materials and paperwork to machine productivity to web improvements. Existing projects are specifically targeting material usage efficiencies and improvements in timings; all designed to improve turnaround times and uphold Parafix’s high standards for quality.
To keep everyone informed as to what projects are running at the time, we operate a policy of open communications by posting updates on all kaizen work on notice boards throughout the company, alongside “story boards” detailing the progress on current projects.
