The Parafix Continuous Improvement (CI) journey moves forward with two more team leaders gaining Business Improvement Techniques qualifications at NVQ level.
Ron Burgess, team lead for the stores and slitting function and Rickie Souter, team lead for the flat bed die cutting and preparation function, have each also gained the level three qualification.
Both Ron and Rickie are employees of 20+ years service and therefore have vast knowledge and experience concerning Parafix and its tape conversion business.
Since 2005 Janice White, team leader for finishing and Shaun Packham, team leader for rotary functions started BIT level 2, gaining Level 3 qualification in 2009 and are now progressing to gain the Level 4 qualification.
By participating in the BIT training it has helped the Team leaders as a group to manage and lead their teams more effectively. To aid this all Deputy Team leaders are now currently undertaking or have obtained the Level 3 qualification.
The NVQ in Business Improvement Techniques not only provides a qualification for the individuals concerned but a formalised methodology and the framework for suggestions and ideas, from any area of the organisation, to be assessed. If deemed beneficial they can be actioned to provide bottom line cost savings for the business (circa £100K to date).
Parafix started out on the CI journey six years ago and now have a total of 8 personnel qualified to level 3 and 7 qualified to level 2, with a further 6 personnel planned to start their level 2 and 4 to start the level 3 training in 2011.
