Leading UK adhesive tape converter Parafix has introduced cutting edge technology to drive down manufacturing costs for customers in the electronics sector. The West Sussex-based firm has strengthened its position in the sector by offering rapid prototyping, enabling customers to test fit for function parts without the need for tooling.
Through its assembly systems, Parafix is able to pick die-cut parts from rolls and accurately place them into individual products, again reducing the manufacturing process for the company’s customers.
Parafix products are used in millions of electronic devices and it’s possible we could come into contact with a Parafix product an incredible 30 times a day, whether it’s in a mobile phone, a television or our cars.
Parafix has also established a new supplier partnership deal to convert and distribute Laird products for EMI shielding and thermal management. This is in addition to Parafix’s long-term relationship with global adhesive tape supplier 3M
Steve Barwick, Commercial manager at Parafix, said: “Using the very latest technology allows us to complete a larger part of the production process for our electronics customers, meaning they have lower manufacturing costs and can move products to market faster."
“We are also delighted to be converting and distributing Laird products, further boosting our product offer.”
Parafix has recently invested £350,000 in market-leading rotary equipment, which in addition to its flat bed and laser converting capability, is helping to improve productivity and efficiency and as a result has been able to expand with successful overseas operations launched in Budapest.
Parafix has become a key supplier in all areas of the electronics industry for a wide range of technical applications such as component attachment, EMI/RFI shielding, thermal management, seals and gaskets, insulation solutions, cushioning and protection, sound and vibration dampening and hydrophobic venting.
Through its supplier partnerships, Parafix is able to provide high performance foams, metal foils and plastic film in addition to its vast self adhesive material range, in easy to use form.
