Parafix Hungary has recently introduced a third manufacturing shift at their site in Budapest. The shift, which runs from 10pm to 6am, has been introduced to find an efficient solution for handling the increased number of incoming orders.
The three shift ’test run’ started in October and was quickly and smoothly implemented to begin 24 hour manufacturing.
During the new night shift, the majority of tasks include preparing materials and semi-finished products and manufacturing some of the less complicated components, for the following daytime and afternoon shifts.
As well as managing increasing order numbers, the new shift will free up some time in the daytime and afternoon shifts, allowing Production Engineers to work on simplifying task schedules and creating production efficiencies, to better improve the service offering.
David Krasznay, General Manager at Parafix Hungary commented on the changes “Parafix Hungary has operated a two shift day for some time now, which has worked very well. The addition of a third shift allows us to fully utilise our capacity and ensures we continue to maintain customer promises with regard to lead times, quality and responsiveness”.
