At the end of June, Parafix Hungary were audited as part of Nestlé’s responsible sourcing programme.
The programme requires suppliers, employees, agents and subcontractors to respect and adhere to their supplier code, which sets out the non-negotiable minimum standards expected at all times when conducting business.
The two and a half days of their visit comprised of a four pillar SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) focusing on the following four topics:
This included interviews with 26 employees who were mainly from the Production Department, such as Operators, Product Controllers and Packers.
During their discussions, the auditors were required to identify whether all employees are treated equally, not forced to work overtime, that no discrimination existed and that they receive their salaries in the agreed way, by the agreed time.
As expected, Parafix were found to meet all of the requirements and the auditing team commented that Parafix’s operations and treatment of employees far exceeds the expected requirements.
We are delighted to be recognised for the fair treatment of our employees as this is fundamental to our company values.
