3M™ 1181 is a copper foil EMI shielding tape, with a conductive acrylic adhesive and a dead soft copper foil backing. Conductive particles in the adhesive provides low contact resistance between the substrate and the backing to drain static charge.
1181 tape is typically used for applications requiring excellent electrical conductivity from the substrate through the adhesive to the foil backing. It is commonly used in grounding and EMI shielding in equipment and components. The copper foil backing is solderable and resists oxidation and discoloration and the acrylic adhesive has good resistance to heat, oxidation, solvents and oils.
1181 tape has UL510 flame retardancy rating and is available in non-standard slit rolls, sheets and custom shapes.
