3M™ AL36FR is a PET laminated aluminium foil shielding tape, coated on one side with a conductive acrylic adhesive, with good resistance to heat, oxidation, solvents and oils. The polyester top layer provides insulation between shield to neighbouring circuits and the conductive particles in the adhesive provides low contact resistance between the substrate and the backing to drain static charge.
Common uses for AL36FR tape include grounding and EMI shielding in equipment, components and shielded rooms. It is typically used for applications requiring excellent electrical conductivity from the application substrate through the adhesive to the foil backing and for insulation on top of the foil backing.
AL36FR tape has a UL510 flame rating and is available in non-standard slit rolls, sheets and custom shapes.
